Kids Karate Instructor of Michigan’s Fastest-Growing Karate School Earns New Rank, Title of “Shihan”
Warren, Michigan — Mr. Denny Strecker, owner and chief instructor of Denny Strecker’s Karate School (http://www.KarateForChildren.com), considered to be one of the fastest-growing karate schools in the entire state of Michigan, has recently been recognized for his outstanding martial arts abilities by being promoted to the 5th Degree Black Belt. In addition, along with this promotion he has also earned the title of “Shihan,” which in the Japanese language means “Master Teacher”.
Mr. Strecker was given this Black Belt promotion in recognition of his outstanding efforts in fulfilling the theme “extreme fitness”. He was required to successfully complete 12 monthly fitness tests that involved high levels of cardiovascular training and endurance. As a result of this intensive training he lost 45 pounds and in the process became an example to all of the students in his school.
Mr. Strecker’s unique approach to teaching Karate is gaining increasing recognition everywhere as an innovative way to prepare children for life. “The most important thing about a karate program is how your child leaves at the end of their class, not how they felt when they came in,” according to Strecker.
Strecker has spent a number of months recently improving the curriculum (taught in his kids karate classes in Warren) to help his students become better citizens in the community. According to him, “Children often suffer from a lack of self-confidence and are sometimes afraid to speak up and raise their hand in school. This can seriously impact their academic performance. These kids often suffer in a circle of negative self-esteem, which simply generates more and more of the same negative emotions and attitudes.”
“I am excited about being promoted to 5th Degree Black Belt,” said Strecker, “but it pleases me even more to see our program working and impacting the lives – and families – of so many kids. Every day we see the proof in terms of increased self-confidence, higher levels of self-esteem and greater focus and concentration. Parents tell us that their kids listening skills have improved, as well as their ability to set and achieve important goals. We’ve even seen some kids begin to blossom as real leaders, who once were very shy and retiring.”
Commenting further, Strecker was quoted as saying, “The moms and dads who bring their kids to our martial arts classes in Warren are just thrilled to see all these changes taking place. The kids, of course, think these classes are cool, but there’s more to it than that — it is also the training that parents need and want for their children. They want it for their kids because they know that, at every step along the way, we will be there, helping to support and reinforce their core family values, and the skills necessary to succeed in life.”
With over 18 years experience, Denny Strecker provides benefit-driven karate for kids in Warren, Michigan that build Black belts from the “inside out,” with an emphasis on character development, concentration, goal-setting, self-confidence and self-esteem. An emphasis on values and personal development is emphasized at all levels. Class sizes are kept intentionally small, so as to allow for greater student-instructor interaction. Classes are also held for adults.
